Customer

A European luxury retailer ordered 5mm clear acrylic sheet for retail display stands. The sample was approved, but bulk goods had serious defects.

Customer Pain Points

1. Obvious batch color difference: some sheets turned blueish, some yellowish; light transmittance dropped from 92% to 88%.

2. Severe overall yellowing after one year of indoor use, ruining premium brand image; the client demanded full replacement.

3. Edge chipping and extended cracks after cutting and drilling, leading to high scrap rate during installation.

Root Causes

· Mixed virgin material with over 30% recycled acrylic, resulting in low purity and poor weather resistance.

· Ordinary cutting blade and no stress annealing treatment caused internal stress release and cracking.

Final Solution

Switched to 100% virgin raw material, with factory annealing and fine edge polishing. Color difference and yellowing were well controlled. The customer only accepts shipments with virgin material certification and batch light transmittance reports.
